However, in May 2007, they went into liquidation, and Farnborough F.C. was set up with the name being voted for by fans. (In 1970, Surrey Senior League side Farncombe folded. Godalming took over their debts and their Meadrow ground, changing their name to Godalming & Farncombe FC and the name of the ground to Weycourt. The club was accepted into the Combined Counties League in 1979, and the following year, changed it's name again, this time to Godalming Town FC).

The club again survived relegation on the last day of the season, despite being deducted 10 points. They failed however, to get a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) to bring the club out of administration., and were demoted to the Northern Premier League Division One North as a result. They appealed against this decision, but the appeal was unsuccessful and the club was wound up. The club was re-formed by the same directors of the previous legal entity, taking the name FC Halifax Town, and, from 2008/09, playing in the Northern Premier League Division One North. In 2011/12, the reached Conference North, and after only 2 seasons were promoted to the Conference (Skrill Premier)).
